My books are OPENING January 15th. Follow me on Instagram @mikaylatattoos for the best updates on reopening.
Custom Tattoos- Fill out the form on my main page please! More description the better.
Medical and Cosmetic Tattoos- email me directly at Mikayla@ReflectionRoomTattoo.com with either "MEDICAL" or "COSMETIC" as the subject line. My books do not close entirely for these requests as I teach classes sessions throughout the year, any form
submitted outside of regular booking will be automatically added to my model list for future consideration. Medical tattoo is my highest priority, including scar coverage with body art. Wait times vary, but I typically keep set availability to accommodate these clients.
If you submit your request when my books are OPEN you will receive a response to your application within two weeks if your project is accepted. If you submit an inquiry while my books are CLOSED you will NOT receive a response, but will be added to my cancellation list. You must submit a new request for consideration when my books open. Due to limited availability it is possible that not all requests may be able to be accepted. I only tattoo within my style.
SEE THE STUDIO WEBSITE FOR GENERAL SHOP POLICIES AND QUESTIONS. THESE ARE FAQ DIRECTLY RELATED TO MY PERSONAL BOOKING.
My policies are stricter than overall studio policies, and should be considered first. Studio policies cover anything not covered here.
I’ll be booking for Jan. 2026
If you do not want to wait and are flexible, I have a cancellation list that I always accept applications for. Submit an appointment request like normal and specify that you would like to be added to my cancellation list.
I also hold flash events occasionally where you can get a predetermined original design of mine. Follow me on instagram for updates!
Another option is to check out the other awesome artists at Reflection Room Tattoo who may not be as booked out.
I do NOT send designs prior to appointments anymore. Most appointments are drawn on. I don’t prepare most designs in advance to give you the best flow and tailored experience. In the event I do large scale artwork or something that has to be drawn in advanced, you will see that work at the appointment. You pay for my time, expertise, and vision. Trust me and trust the process. If you want small changes in the final design, I can typically accommodate day of appointment. If you are extremely nervous and unsure, I suggest waiting to book or finding another artist who you fully trust.
Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please call if you are going to be late. If you are more than 10 minutes late, your appointment will be canceled. I have a tight schedule and cannot accommodate tardiness. This is a strict policy and there are no exceptions except for a true documented emergency.
If you need to reschedule a minimum of 48 hours is required. You need to email scheduling@reflectionroomtattoo.com for all reschedule requests. If you fail to give this notice, your deposit will be forfeit. If there is a true emergency please email us right away and I will assess the situation. I would much rather tattoo and not take deposits, I try to work with my clients, but also have this policy in place because this is my livelihood and if I am unable to put someone else in your slot this directly affects my income. See cancellation policy on the main page.
For valid reasons, or with proper notice- I allow a MAX of two reschedules. If you show up having ignore these policies and I cannot tattoo you at your scheduled time, your deposit is forfeit.
In the rare case that I need to reschedule or move an appointment, I expect the same respect I give my clients. I am only human, life happens for me as well. If an emergency reschedule happens on my end within 48 hours of the appointment: I will offer you a new date within a reasonable range of your original appointment (typically within 30 days) and will apply a $50 credit to your account for the inconvenience.
Please know what you want before you book. The deposit taken is for the tattoo described when filling out your appointment request. Some slight changes may be accommodated, but if you choose to change your idea, your project may be dropped and deposit forfeited. You may reapply for an appointment when scheduling reopens.
Yes, you must have a VALID GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID. If you fail to have proper identification at the time of your appointment, your deposit will automatically be forfeit and you will absolutely be sent home. This is the most basic requirement by law for a tattoo requirement. I will not be sympathetic or accommodating for failure to bring a valid ID. WE DO NOT ACCEPT DIGITAL FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION! It must be a physical copy. For further ID requirements and questions see www.ReflectionRoomTattoo.com
Clients that have medical conditions that may affect their ability to heal or be tattooed MUST get a Physician Acknowledgment signed by their doctor. Please send scheduling@reflectionroomtattoo.com an email request for this document prior to your appointment if you believe you fall into this category. If you are unsure about this you can also email to receive a comprehensive list of conditions that require a release. If your medical concern is allergy related, we can also schedule a patch test. You CANNOT be tattooed if you are on Accutane. You must wait until 1 year or longer after stopping this medication to be tattooed.
If you come in and you have a medical condition that will affect your ability to be tattooed and you have not previously inquired with us to get a medical release, you forfeit your deposit. We will turn away anyone pregnant or nursing. There will be no leniency with this policy. It is your responsibility to do your due diligence. More common conditions such as Diabetes, Hypertension, etc are on this list. I urge you to request a copy.
No. If you show up and have used numbing cream on the area I am to tattoo, you will be sent home and your deposit will be forfeited. Topical anesthetics can change the texture of the skin, and depending on the product, also increase liability. Lidocaine can cause adverse health affects when not used to manufacturer specification. If you are extremely uncomfortable during the tattoo process I can use a numbing spray that is made for tattooing, once the skin is broken. However, I like to avoid using this if possible because it can negatively affect ink retention in some people. I do not provide a free touch up in cases where spray is used. In general, I do not allow any products to be used on the skin that I do not provide.
I will NOT tattoo you if you have a rash, burn, bruising, cut, sunburn, skin peeling, acne outbreak etc. in the area that you want your tattoo. I will also NOT tattoo you if you have used fake tanner within the two weeks leading up to your appointment. You will be turned away in the event you show up to your appointment under any of these circumstances and will lose your deposit. Ask if you're unsure. Scarring is something I am extremely comfortable with as long as it is healed to the point of being able to get tattooed. Ask your doctor if you are unsure about scarring. I also need to be made aware of scarring PRIOR to booking.
I also will not tattoo anyone who is healing a fresh tattoo, injury, wound, or is ill within 14 days of their appointment with me. This is for your health and safety. This includes those with planned medical procedures. Depending on the medical procedure there may be a timeframe before or after such procedure that you may not be able to be tattooed. There are also certain medications that’s are considered contraindications to being tattooed. I may need a medical release to tattoo. It is your job to do your due diligence with your medical provider and to reach out to myself or Reflection Room regarding a medical release under all circumstances. You will lose your booking fee will be lost if you come in and I cannot tattoo you due to your own negligence.
Every Artist is different in their creative process. When you first come in you’ll fill out your paper work and provide your valid ID to a staff member for copying, as well as a medical release if that was determined to be necessary. I rarely do consultations prior to appointments, and even if I do, I still prefer to check in with my clients day of on final placement, design, etc. You can expect 30 mins to an hour typically dedicated to this process. I do not charge for this time. If it is something that was prepared ahead of time, I often put the finishing touches on everything with my client present to make sure we are on the same page regarding the project. That way you get the tattoo that you want and can see how it’ll flow. Flow is very important to my creative process and I often prefer to draw directly on my clients day of. This requires a lot of trust, but I go through everything step by step to ensure your comfort.
Speaking of comfort, although my station does have a TV for you to watch throughout your appointment, I do recommend bringing some items to make your service experience your best. I do not allow any guests without approval prior to appointment. You should eat within two hour prior to appointment, but it’s still a great idea to bring snacks and a drink, or even a full lunch if it’s a long session. We do have a water cooler to fill up bottles, or if you forget yours we can provide a cup for you. If you’re not into TV, a book, kindle, IPAD, listening to music, could be a helpful distraction.
I do my best to provide a safe, judgement-free, and happy experience. If you need a break, I want you to tell me. I never want my clients to push their bodies past their limits. I understand. If you have any suggestions, comments, general feedback, regarding how I could make your experience even better, I love hearing these things from my clients!
If you have a pending Covid/Strep/Flu etc. test, have been exposed to illness, or have ANY symptoms or signs of illness, including what you believe are allergies, you MUST reschedule. This is considered a special circumstance and I will work with you when it comes to your deposit. If you show up sick, you will lose your deposit and ability to book with me in the future. Honesty is appreciated. I am medically vulnerable and have a compromised immune system. When I get sick it tends to hit me harder than the average person. Please consider this if you have any sort of symptoms.
******UPDATE******
The SPCP and FDA have recommended that clients NOT be tattooed within 14 days of Covid-19 vaccination INCLUDING the booster. This means you cannot have a tattoo appointment scheduled within the 14 days leading up to your vaccination or within the 14 days post-vaccination. You must reschedule our appointment if your tattoo appointment falls within this schedule. This is for your healthy, safety, and desired tattoo outcome. You will be turned away at appointment and will lose your deposit if you do not reschedule prior to coming in.
Failure to comply with these policies will result in a deposit loss and inability to receive service in the future.
For the quickest response and all scheduling needs please contact scheduling@reflectionroomtattoo.com.
